WWE have announced that Hillbilly Jim is to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Jim, real name James Morris, will join Goldberg, Jeff Jarrett, Ivory and the Dudley Boyz in the 2018 class, alongside Warrior Award recipient Jarrius “JJ” Robertson.
Jim made his WWF debut in 1984, appearing as a ringside ‘fan’ who jumped the barrier and helped Hulk Hogan fight off an attack by Big John Studd, Ken Patera and Bobby Heenan. The story was that Hogan saw potential in the big farmer and began to train him.
He never claimed WWF gold, but remained a likeable babyface for the duration of his in-ring career. He wrestled at WrestleMania III in a six person tag-team match alongside midget wrestlers, and later returned to the ring at WrestleMania X-Seven in 2001 for the Gimmick Battle Royal.
