New Thor: Ragnarok Teaser Suggests Plot Change

A new teaser for Thor: Ragnarok has caused some confusion and potentially suggested that a previously-believed plot point may have been changed.

Previous trailers for Marvel Studios’ latest showed Cate Blanchett’s Hela and Thor meeting in a city alley and leading to her sensationally catching Mjolnir and crushing it. However this latest teaser now shows this confrontation taking place in an open field.

The city setting was believed to be part of a plot involving Thor and Loki looking for Odin, who has gone missing since the events of Thor: The Dark World, and Hela following them to Earth, leading to his exchange. This new change would appear to suggest that the alley setting is no longer part of the plan, and that Hela now does not follow the brothers to Earth. Naturally, Marvel are not commenting on the alteration.

Thor: Ragnarok will be released in the UK on 24 October, with the US release coming on 3 November.
