Dana White has moved to quash reports that Conor McGregor is in talks with WWE for an appearance at WrestleMania 34.
Reports emerged earlier this week that the current UFC Lightweight champion was in advanced talks with WWE to compete in a match at next year’s event. However UFC president White, during an appearance on Good Day New York on Thursday, strongly denied the claims.
“It’s not true. It’s absolutely not true.”
He went on to state that he had exchanged text messages with WWE boss Vince McMahon about the report, with McMahon also claiming there is no truth to the claims. When asked by co-host Rosanna Scotto to see the messages in question, White showed her the messages which included Vince saying “News to me”, and “It might be good someday but not now.”
WWE nor McGregor have publicly commented on the reports.
