Wonder Woman Director Agrees Deal for Sequel

Patty Jenkins has signed a record-breaking deal to return for the Wonder Woman sequel.

A report in The Hollywood Reporter states that Jenkins has concluded months of negotiations by signing a deal worth between $7 and $9 million to produce, direct and co-write the movie. The deal makes her the highest-paid female director of all-time, surpassing the $5 million made by Nancy Meyers.

The report claims that the reason for the delay in the deal being agreed was due to Jenkins wanting the same level of pay to Man of SteelBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League director Zack Snyder.

Wonder Woman has now passed $800 million worldwide, overtaking Guardians of the Galaxy, Spider-Man and Deadpool as the highest-grossing superhero origin movie.

The Wonder Woman sequel is due for release on 13 December 2019.
