If LEGO’s announcement of a 7,500 piece Millennium Falcon wasn’t enough to get you excited about Star Wars returning to the cinemas this coming December, then maybe this will do the trick.
Technology company Lenovo has announced a new product which may just give fans of the franchise the experience they’ve been craving since they discovered Star Wars in the first place. Using augmented reality, a technology made mainstream by apps like Pokemon Go, you can now experience Jedi battles in the most immersive way yet with Star Wars: Jedi Challenges.
Star Wars: Jedi Challenges is a smartphone-powered experience which comes complete with a Lenovo Mirage AR headset, Lightsaber controller (which looks AWESOME), tracking beacon, and everything you need to cover the real world in a layer of Force-fuelled brilliance.
The system offers three play modes, Lightsaber Battle, Holochess and Strategic combat. Each game style will map elements from the Star Wars universe on to the real-world via the headset. So, not only can you battle Vader and Ren, you can also outwit your opponents with a spot of chess (always let the Wookie win) or lead your forces against the Empire.
Retailing at £249.99, and compatible with both iOS and Android, you can pre-order yours from Lenovo now.
