San Diego Comic-Con 2017: Jackson Confirmed for Captain Marvel

Samuel L. Jackson has been confirmed as starring in Captain Marvel – but not quite with the same look we know.

As revealed during Marvel Studios’ Comic-Con panel, Jackson will reprise his role as Nick Fury. However, he will not be donning the eyepatch, as the movie will be set in 1990s and will show Fury with two normal, working eyes.

It was also confirmed that the villains for the film will be none other than classic Marvel alien villains the Skrulls, a shape-shifting race intent on taking over the world. Of course.

Brie Larson stars as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, with the movie explaining the origin of the character, though she will first be seen in Avengers: Infinity War.

Captain Marvel is due for release on 8 March 2019.
