Ben Affleck has used a rapturous Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con to address rumours that he won’t be Batman for too much longer.
Talk has emerged in recent days that bosses at Warner Bros. are preparing for Bat-life without Affleck, with the star not definite to star in the Matt Reeves-directed Batman solo movie. Affleck has already given up the director’s chair on that movie, with news also coming out that his script will no longer be used for the project.
Affleck, however, took the opportunity to discuss the speculation before the latest Justice League trailer debuted at SDCC. He said;
“I am the luckiest guy in the world. Batman is the coolest part in any universe, Marvel DC, anything–I’m so thrilled to do it. Its fucking amazing. I still can’t believe it. Everyone at the studio tells me I’m their Batman and I believe it. And Matt Reeves? I’d be an ape on the ground for Matt Reeves. I’m blown away and its an exciting time in the DC Universe. I’m excited to be Batman.”
Now technically, he doesn’t actually deny he won’t be Batman for much longer, nor does he actually address the speculation. All we know for sure is that he loves being Batman. Who wouldn’t?
Whatever the future holds, Affleck will be Batman at least once more, with Justice League being released on November 17.
