San Diego Comic-Con 2017: Ant-Man and the Wasp Casts Michelle Pfeiffer

Michelle Pfeiffer will play Janet van Dyne in Ant-Man and the Wasp.

The Batman Returns actress will take on the role as van Dyne, who suited up as the Wasp and teamed with husband and original Ant-Man Hank Pym. In the first movie, it was shown that in order to save the world, she entered the quantum realm, never to be seen again. Apparently.

A post-credits tag for that movie showed van Dyne and Pym’s daughter Hope being shown a new costume for Wasp.

Game of Thrones actress Hannah John-Kamen will be the movie’s villain, a sniper called Ghost who has the ability to be invisible.

Also confirmed as appearing is Laurence Fishburne, most recently seen in DC Comics’ Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. He has been cast as Hank Pym associate Dr Bill Foster. In the comics, Foster has taken on the aliases of Black Goliath and Giant-Man, who we have already seen the new Ant-Man Scott Lang transform into during Captain America: Civil War.

Walton Goggins and Randall Park will also feature.

Ant-Man and the Wasp is due for release on 29 June 2018 in the UK, with the US release coming one week later on July 6.
