The first trailer for Star Wars Battlefront II has debuted.
Boasting a story mode that covers the time between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens, and featuring new characters – thanks to a close partnership between LucasFilm and Motive – the single player will fill in the 30 year gap between the Death Star II being blown up and the rise of the First Order. Iden Versio features, the leader of the Inferno Squad, an elite unit of the Galactic Empire. As well as Versio, playable characters also include Kylo Ren and Luke Skywalker.
Aside from the brand-new solo campaign, the game’s multiplayer feature will become heaven from Star Wars fans; with modes supporting up to 40 players, you can play through a huge array of locations from all three movie eras; classic, prequel and the new trilogy.
Matt Webster, the Executive Producer at Criterion, says of the game; “In Star Wars Battlefront II, we all wanted to really capture the essence of being heroic and how in Star Wars, anyone can become a hero. Whether that’s playing as an iconic character like Rey or Luke, as a front-line trooper or fighter pilot in epic multiplayer battles, or playing through a new Star Wars story that bridges the gap between Star Wars: Return of the Jedi and Star Wars: The Force Awakens, you will become a hero in Star Wars Battlefront II.”
Further more, the title will have downloadable content that will be free for users. These include a pack focusing on The Last Jedi in December, featuring Finn and Captain Phasma characters, as well as the planet Crait.
The game is due out later this year on November 17, on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The Elite Trooper Deluxe Edition lands on 14 November will give those inclined a few days head start, or EA Access and Origin Access subscribers can jump in from November 9.
