Original Xbox Games Getting Backwards Compatibility

Microsoft have announced that the Xbox One will soon be able to play original Xbox games.

During the company’s E3 presentation, Xbox boss Phil Spencer announced the extension to the backwards compatibility feature, which will now allow users to play their original Xbox games – and they will run better, obviously – to play on their new One consoles.

The company later clarified that original game discs will work in the newer consoles, while digital licenses will also carry over, and you will be able to system-link play across Xbox, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

The new feature will be available later this year.
