The James Bond actor has passed, following “a short but brave battle with cancer”, said a statement released by his three children.

Moore, who was also a UNICEF Goodwill ambassador, was best-known for his portrayal of the iconic Bond character, playing the role in seven movies including Live and Let Die, A View to a Kill and For Your Eyes Only. On the small-screen, Moore starred in The Persuaders and six series of The Saint, in the lead role of Simon Templar.
