The first official trailer for Justice League has debuted.
Coming eight months after the first footage from the movie was shown at San Diego Comic-Con, Warner Bros. have now released what they are calling ‘Official Trailer 1′ for the movie.
With Bruce Wayne and Diana Prince fully aware of Darkseid disciple Steppenwolf’s arrival on Earth and the danger he brings, they set about uniting a team that will form the defense; Barry Allen’s Flash, Arthur Curry’s Aquaman and Victor Stone’s Cyborg.
Elsewhere in the trailer, we also see glimpses of Lois Lane, Henry Allen and J.K. Simmons’ Commissioner Gordon. Not shown in the footage, of course, is Superman himself, after his apparent demise at the end of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (spoiler alert: he’ll be back).
Given the less-than-stellar recent history of movies from the DCEU, one would be forgiven for not allowing ourselves to get too excited about this…but given the positive anticipation for June’s Wonder Woman, maybe this is when Warner and DC get their collective acts together and get their universe back on track.
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher, J.K. Simmons, Amy Adams, Willem Dafoe Joe Morton and Billy Crudup. It will be released on November 17.
