Iwan Rheon has been cast in Marvel’s Inhumans TV series.
Rheon, who played Ramsay Bolton in the HBO series, will be Maximus, who is described as “a clever and charming Inhuman that is fiercely devoted to the people of Attilan, especially his brother, the King”, though he apparently wants the crown himself, something that I’m sure will come up along the way.
The series will follows the exploits of Black Bolt and the royal family, a race of superhumans who possess unique powers.
Jeph Loeb, Head of Marvel Television and Executive Producer, said of Rheon’s casting;
“Iwan’s ability to be charming, roguish, and still completely unexpectedly dangerous were all the different sides we needed to bring the character to life. We’re thrilled to have him on board.”
Added showrunner and executive producer Scott Buck;
“Maximus is a complex character. Likable, charming, tragic and villainous all in the same moment, and I’m very excited to have someone of Iwan’s considerable talent.”
Marvel’s Inhumans will debut on ABC later this year, with the first two episodes premiering exclusively in IMAX cinemas for a two-week run.
