Woody Harrelson has signed on to appear in the Han Solo spinoff movie.
The official announcement does not reveal the role that Harrelson will be taking on, though it is rumoured to be that of a mentor to the young Han Solo – played by Alden Ehrenreich.
The movie’s directors, Phil Lord and Chris Miller, had this to say about the casting;
“We couldn’t be more excited to work with an artist with as much depth and range as Woody. His ability to find both humor and pathos, often in the same role, is truly unique. He is also very good at ping pong.”
The movie, which is yet to announce an official title, also features Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian and Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke in an unknown role. It will focus on a young Han Solo and be set before the events of A New Hope.
It is due for release in 2018.
