Marvel Studios have released the synopsis for Thor: Ragnarok.
Coming days after Benedict Cumberbatch’s appearance in the movie as Doctor Strange was confirmed, we now have an official outline of where the movie is going – though there is no mention of the Sorcerer Supreme.
“In Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok – the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization – at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger – the Incredible Hulk!”
What this does tell us is that the film will be incorporating elements of the famed Planet Hulk story, something widely speculated on for some time. We also have a new image from the production, which you can see below.
Taika Waititi directs, with Chris Hemsworth starring. It also features Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba and Anthony Hopkins reprising their roles as Loki, Heimdall and Odin, respectively. New to the franchise are Mark Ruffalo, Cate Blanchett, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson and Karl Urban.
Thor: Ragnarok is due to be released on November 3.
