New characters revealed in Injustice 2 Story Trailer

When Injustice: Gods Among Us was unveiled at E3 2012, I along with many others looked at a video fo Batman & Superman punching each other and just thought “what’s the point?” But as we drew closer to Neverelm’s take on the DC Universe the following year, I found myself sucked in by the hype – thanks in part to a very creative PR marketing campaign. So of course when Warner Bros. Interactive made the announcement that there would be an Injustice sequel in 2017, I may have lost my little fanboy mind.

As we’ve seen so far in previous trailers there’s going to be more superhero/villain throwdowns with Batman, Superman, Flash, Aquaman & more; along with a host of new fighters and some sort of armour upgrade system. So far to pop up in the new roster additions have been Supergirl, Atrocitus, Blue Beetle, Deadshot, Gorilla Grodd, Poison Ivy, Power Girl, Reverse-Flash & Robin (Damien Wayne was present in the last game but had taken on the Nightwing persona).

Well thanks to a trailer released today, we know that Brainiac will be present in this outing and (judging by the video above) may be the main villain focus this time around. Also released today were some key art pieces and screenshots to help get those hype muscles flexing.

Injustice 2 will release for PlayStation 4 & Xbox One on the 19th May, pre-orders of the game will include Darkseid as a playable character through DLC.
