Disney have confirmed that Benedict Cumberbatch will appear in Thor: Ragnarok – and in a big way, it seems.
Official confirmation of the actor’s role had never come from Marvel, but was heavily teased and expected following the post-credit sting in Doctor Strange, which saw Thor visit the Sanctum Santorum about his missing father Odin.
Now, direct from the
horse’s mouse’s mouth themselves on the D23 website, comes this passage in an article of what fans have to look forward to in 2017;
“If you need even more intergalactic, world-saving action, Thor: Ragnarok in November brings together Thor, the Hulk, and Doctor Strange to face off against intergalactic baddies both familiar and new.”
Given this description positioning him as a major part of the cast, as well as the post-credit scene that saw Strange agree to help Thor locate Odin, it definitely seems that Cumberbatch will be getting a good amount of screen time.
Thor: Ragnarok is due to be released on 3 November.
