After box office smashes with the original Despicable Me, its sequel and inevitable spinoff Minions, it is no surprise that Universal Pictures would set to work on another outing for Gru and his crew.
And sure enough, we have our first trailer for Despicable Me 3.
Once again starring Steve Carell and Kristen Wiig, this latest caper sees Gru and wife Lucy still working for the Anti Villain League. Opposing them this time out is Balthazar Bratt – voiced by South Park co-creator Trey Parker – and his deluge of 1980s references. Expect a nostalgia-fuelled soundtrack here.
Unsurprisingly, the Minions do make a brief appearance in the trailer, though no sign of Gru’s three daughters.
Despicable Me 3 is due for release on June 30.
