Final Assassin’s Creed Trailer Reveals The Apple Of Eden

With just under a week until the release of a new Star Wars movie, it’s easy to forget that another major movie release is just around the corner. The highly anticipated video game adaptation of the incredibly popular Assassin’s Creed franchise is itself only a few weeks away.

Ahead of its debut, Ubisoft has released one last trailer which features a wealth of additional footage as well as more firmly setting up the plot for the new movie. With an impressive Jeremy Irons voice-over delving into the motivation behind the Templar’s mission, we get the big reveal that fans of the games have been dying to see, the Apple of Eden.

For those less familiar with the video games, the Apple of Eden is an ancient artefact which has the power to control minds, provide the knowledge for creating advanced technology and allow anyone wielding it to ultimately conquer the world. The Apple has been a key part of the gaming franchise since its inception, most notably playing a predominant role in the Ezio trilogy of games which were recently remastered.

While the movie will not be based on any of the stories from the games, there is clearly a connection between this new adventure and what we’ve seen before. Could there even be a reference to Desmond in the trailer’s voice-over?

Assassin’s Creed stars Michael Fassbender as the new Assassin and co-stars Marion Cotillard, Michael K Williams, Ariane Labed, Jeremy Irons and Brendan Gleeson.
