McGregor Relinquishes UFC Belt

UFC have announced that Conor McGregor has relinquished the UFC Featherweight Championship.

McGregor, who is also the UFC Lightweight champion following his victory over Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205, was the first man to hold two UFC championships simultaneously. His decision to give up the Featherweight title he won back at UFC 194 means that Interim Featherweight champion Jose Aldo is now promoted to undisputed champion.

A bout between Anthony Pettis and Max Holloway for the Interim Featherweight championship has been announced for UFC 206, with the winner taking on Aldo for the unified title at an event in 2017.
