A new trailer for Kong: Skull Island has debuted, giving us our first real look at the movie’s plot, and our first glimpse at the great ape himself.
The film revolves around John Goodman’s Bill Randa hiring a military group, led by Samuel L. Jackson’s Packard along with Brie Larson’s Weaver and Tom Hiddleston’s James Conrad, to travel to an island in a mission to prove the existence of monsters. When they get there, however, they are met by the island’s natives and one John C. Reilly, who explains Kong’s role as a “God on the island” and warns of the “devils living below”.
The film is set in the 70s, and is the first piece in the monster universe puzzle that Legendary Pictures are building as they work towards an epic Kong vs Godzilla movie in 2020.
Two new posters for the movie have also been released;
