First Trailer for DC TV Crossover

The Flash, Arrow, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow are heading for a major crossover event – and a new Supergirl teaser has started the build-up.

Ahead of a four-night “Heroes vs Aliens” crossover, the clip shows us Barry Allen introducing Supergirl to his other hero buddies.

It should be pointed out that despite Supergirl’s appearance in the teaser, Legends and Arrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim has told IGN that the crossover story is really over three shows;

“There’s going to be an episode of Supergirl that ends with Supergirl going over to the crossover. So some people call it a four-way crossover because it involves four shows. My ulcer requires me to call it a three-part crossover. I mean, the story being told has a beginning middle and end. It’s a beginning in Flash, a middle in Arrow, and an end in Legends. But Supergirl is very much a part of the whole thing, so we are crossing over four shows in three parts.”

Of course, it must be noted that Supergirl does not take place in the same universe as the other three shows, with Flash’s appearance in a series one episode coming as a result of Barry Allen finding himself sent to another universe. Guggenheim continues;

“Last year, Supergirl established that Flash was able to make his way to what I call ‘Earth-CBS’ and it stands to reason that with the proper breach technology the reverse can happen…I don’t think it’s a big shock that between Barry and Cisco and all their experiences with Earth-2 and the multiverse that they can pluck her from Earth-CBS.”

So yes, while technically the actual story – which sees classic comic book villains the Dominators emerge to threaten our heroes – takes place over Flash, Arrow and Legends, the real beginning does come in Supergirl – at least, Guggenheim confirms, in the last few moments.

“It’s right at the end where Barry and Cisco come in.”

The “Heroes vs Aliens” story will begin on the November 28 episode of Supergirl.
