Augmented-reality hacking game, NITE TEAM 4, has just been funded on Kickstarter.
Developed by indie dev Alice and Smith, the cyber-warfare ARG launched on Kickstarter this September as a story-driven extension of the suspensefully spyish Black Watchmen universe. Now entering its final 24 hours on the campaign, NITE TEAM 4 has accumulated over $60,500 CAD – doubling its $30,000 target, and unlocking three stretch goals in the process.
As detailed on the game’s official Kickstarter page, the new additions making it to NITE TEAM 4 are as follows:
- The Hive – A hint feature to lend support to players during tough missions.
- Eye in the Sky – A new “tech tree” feature attached to the game’s drone and satellite system, adding more depth to raids and field objectives.
- COM Division Online: an event that will feature a special Twitch stream portal website, which will deliver live updates and streaming content during live events. According to Alice and Smith, it’ll also add to the game’s overarching storyline, allowing players to uncover the mysterious origin story of the independent sec NITE TEAM 4.
With now only 24 hours left to go, it won’t be long until ARG fans and Black Watchmen confederates alike can brave the fresh frontier of cyber-warfare. If your keyboard-skimming digits are still hankering for a-hacking, however, the studio have released a bonus crossover puzzle, in collaboration with The Secret World developer Funcom:
“To close the campaign, NITE Team 4 has given the community the following challenge. Can you solve it?
61 72 63 68 69 76 65 2E 62 6C 61 63 6B 77 61 74 63
