J.K. Rowling Confirms FOUR Movies Will Follow Fantastic Beasts

As if the impending release of Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them wasn’t enough, it seems that fans of the magical series have something new to get excited about.

During a live global fan event for the soon-to-be-released movie, creator J.K. Rowling took to the stage to announce that a total of five movies have been confirmed for the franchise, including next month’s release. It had originally been announced that Fantastic Beasts would be the start of a new trilogy of movies, but it seems that Warner Bros. have a great deal of confidence in the franchise’s longevity.

It’s not yet known how those movies will follow, whether they will all be part of one continuous story like the Harry Potter series. What we do know is that a direct sequel is already in the works for the upcoming release.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is an all-new adventure returning to the wizarding world created by J.K. Rowling. Eddie Redmayne stars as Magizoologist Newt Scamander, who having just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures arrives in New York. A mishap with a magical case full of fantastic beasts sets him off on an adventure which could spell trouble for both the wizarding world and the no-maj (muggles).

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is scheduled for release on November 18, 2016 and also stars Katherine Waterston, Colin Farrell, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol and Ezra Miller.
