Tim Miller has departed Deadpool 2.
Deadline are reporting that Miller, who hadn’t actually signed on to helm the sequel but had been working on the script development, has left the project due to creative differences between he and star Ryan Reynolds. The split is said to have been amicable, with Fox moving quickly to reassign Miller to Influx, a story based off a Daniel Suarez novel that the studio are planning to expand into a trilogy.
It was Miller that allegedly leaked the original test footage of Deadpool, which famously led to the movie getting greenlit and going on to make $782 million worldwide – off a $58 million budget.
Deadpool 2 is due for a 2018 release.
