Resident Evil 7 Gameplay Trailer Revealed

A new trailer for the upcoming Resident Evil 7: Biohazard has just been released, offering a closer look at the main game, as well as the previously-mentioned Marguerite Baker.

The “found-footage” style trailer was revealed during this year’s Gamescom in Cologne, and follows a frightened young woman as she attempts to send a video message to a mysterious ‘Ethan’. In keeping with the previous Resident Evil 7 trailer, environments are spine-tinglingly creepy, taking place in a dilapidated maze, patrolled by the formidable, lantern-wielding Marguerite.

You can watch the trailer above. Though taken from the main game, Capcom states that the footage has been “slightly adjusted,” so as not to spoil the story (via Video Gamer).

While you won’t be able to play as the woman shown in the trailer (via. Playstation Blog), the question of her identity poses more than a little intrigue. Indeed, why is she here, and why is Marguerite chasing her? And perhaps more pressingly, where is she now?

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is expected to release on January 24 2017 for Xbox One, PC and the PlayStation 4. If you’ve a penchant for terror, it’ll also be available for the PlayStation VR.
