Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit Boxset Announced

Warner Bros. have announced the Middle Earth 6-Film Collection, bringing together The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings for the first time.

An inevitable release, the set will come in two versions; a movies-only version with theatrical versions of the films, and a Limited Collectors Edition containing THIRTY DISCS featuring the theatrical and extended versions – and all bonus content previously released – of all six films, as well as an exclusive 100-page book sketches with a cover designed as a replica of the Red Book of Westmarch, the book that Bilbo and Frodo write. The collection also contains two original replications of watercolour paintings by book artists John Howe and Alan Lee.

The discs will be in faux leather book-style cases on a wooden shelf that looks like something straight out of Bag End.
