POSTAL Redux Adds 4-Player Co-Op Today

POSTAL Redux, the HD remaster of the 1997 cult classic is adding a 4-player co-op mode, as part of a free update set to release today, August 23.

The update will go live via Steam, and allow players to team up with friends or bots to take on the game’s 17 levels of  mayhem. An all-new ending will also become available to those who finish the game with a friend.

Cheat code support is also being added in the update, allowing players to dominate fair fights with total annihilation. The codes will be revealed via Running With Scissors’ Twitter account, though you’ll still be able to use cheats from the original POSTAL.

A second free update is set to release “at a later date,” bringing six newly-remastered maps, including those from the original’s Special Delivery expansion. Though no specific release date was given for the second update, players can expect a return to such maps as EZMart, La Palamino Resort, Earthquake and ShantyTown.”

Japan-exclusive Super POSTAL will also be added in future, allowing many players to take to the streets of Tokyo and Osaka in two HD levels.

As with the 1997 original, POSTAL Redux follows the travails of the mysterious POSTAL Dude, in a struggle against a land of insanity, survival, and undying violence. For more information, you can check out the game’s Steam page here, or follow Running With Scissors on Twitter. Alternatively, you can visit the developer’s official website here.
