New The Last Guardian Screenshots Shared

Ahead of its official release this October, some more screenshots of The Last Guardian were recently shared by Sony, offering a further look at the mysterious griffin creature Trico, as well as his ancient, mysterious surroundings.

Main work on The Last Guardian wrapped up in June, as reported by Designer and Director Fumito Ueda in an interview with Kotaku. With less than three months to go until the game’s release, the team at SIE Japan Studio are hard at work putting the finishing touches on the long-awaited adventure game. The Last Guardian follows the journey of a young boy, throughout a dangerous ancient ruin that is quickly falling apart. Working together with a huge, unknown creature, players must overcome challenging puzzles and treacherous obstacles to survive their surroundings, in “an unforgettable story of comradeship, trust and extraordinary adventures.” 

The Last Guardian was officially announced back in 2009 for the PS3, following leaks of a “Project Trico”, showing the game’s initial footage (via. PlayStation Lifestyle). After a turbulent development period, shifts in platform and multiple set-backs, the game was finally announced for release this year at E3 2016.

The Last Guardian will see its official launch on October 25 2016, exclusively for the PS4. For update’s on the studio’s progress, you can follow the game on Twitter.
