San Diego Comic-Con 2016: New Star Trek TV Series Teaser Released

When the news came that Star Trek was returning to TV after so many years, the fans rejoiced. The new show, set to air in January 2017 and then hit Netflix shortly after, now has a name, Star Trek Discovery.

Announced during a panel at San Diego Comic-Con, the name comes from the new Starfleet ship which will be the focal point of the show, the USS Discovery, and CBS and Star Trek have taken to twitter to give fans a sneak peek at the new ship.

As the teaser shows, the new ship has all the hallmarks of a Star Trek vessel but brings an entirely new ship design to the universe.

Sadly, we know very little about the shows story or cast, but given we’re less than six months from an air date, it is unlikely that fans will have long to wait for more information.
