DC Comics’ famous supervillain group the Legion of Doom will appear in the second season of Legends of Tomorrow.
It was announced at Comic-Con that a new iteration of the famed group – made up of Reverse-Flash, Captain Cold, Malcolm Merlyn and Damien Darhk – will form to oppose the heroic Legends when the show returns later this year.
The Flash‘s Matt Letscher will reprise his role as Reverse-Flash as a series regular, while Arrow‘s Neal McDonough will again play Darhk in a recurring role. Wentworth Miller and John Barrowman are now working under new contracts that will see them as series regulars across all of the superhero shows on The CW.
Said executive producer Marc Guggenheim in a statement;
“For Season 2 of Legends, we decided that the perfect antagonist for TV’s first-ever team of Super Heroes would be TV’s first-ever team of Super-Villains, recruited from the ranks of Arrow and The Flash’s deadliest adversaries. Being huge fans of the Challenge of the Superfriends, we’ve come to call this group our ‘Legion of Doom’.”
The Justice Society of America have already been confirmed as appearing in season two, with Patrick J. Adams making his series debut as Hourman in the first season finale. Stargirl, Dr. Mid-Nite, Obsidian and Citizen Steel will also feature.
Season two of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will premiere on October 13.
