New LEGO Technic Sets Coming This August

The LEGO Technic brand is set to release a new wave of sets next week, bringing new scale models for construction, mining and farming machinery to the franchise.

The mammoth sets bring a new level of realism to genres previously explored by other franchises such as LEGO City and include motorised parts and working lights. Check out the official descriptions below:

#42053 Volvo EW160E (RRP: £69.99)

Get to know the high-tech innovation of the Volvo EW160E with the authentic LEGO® Technic replica of the real-life wheeled excavator.  Developed in partnership with Volvo Construction Equipment, the model boasts key features from one of the most advanced multi-tool carriers in the construction industry.  Elements include: an advanced pneumatic system for operation of the extendable boom and working bucket, a detailed, height-adjustable cab with seat, armrests, sun visor and adjustable mirrors, rotating superstructure, rear-controlled front steering, working front blade and extendable outriggers. Upgrade with the 8293 LEGO Power Functions motor set (not supplied) for a fully motorized boom and working lights. This 2-in-1 model can then be rebuilt to create a Volvo L30G compact material handler.

#42054 CLAAS XERION 5000 TRAC VC (RRP: £119.99)

Explore the high-tech realm of industrial farm machines with this authentic LEGO® Technic replica of the CLAAS XERION 5000 TRAC VC. The model comes complete with an array of motorized functions including a rotating operator’s cab, working crane arm and extendable outriggers.  Manual functions include front-wheel, 4-wheel crab steering, and a working crane claw. The model features the trademarked green, grey and red colour scheme, detailed operator’s cab, four huge tractor tyres and a tree trunk element for extended play scenarios. It can also be rebuilt to create a CLAAS XERION 5000 TRAC VC with Silage Plough.

#42055 Bucket Wheel Excavator (RRP: £179.99)

Enter the world of mining on a colossal scale with the massive Bucket Wheel Excavator—the largest LEGO® Technic set to date!  With over 3,900 pieces, this highly detailed 2-in-1 model is a meticulously detailed reproduction of a real-life mining excavator and has been designed to provide an immersive and rewarding build and play experience.  Featuring a blue and yellow colour scheme, the model includes hand-railed walkways, huge tracks and detailed cab.  It also comes with an array of motorised functions, including forward and reverse driving, moving conveyor belts, working boom with revolving bucket wheel, and a rotating superstructure. A mining truck is included within the set to accompany the excavator.  Standing at over 16” high, 28” (72cm) long and 11” wide, the model can even be rebuilt to create a Mobile Aggregate Processing Plant.

The new sets will be available from August 1st and you find out more about the sets by heading to the official LEGO Technic site.
