New LEGO Batman Movie Images Revealed

The LEGO Batman Movie is set to release next year, starring Will Arnett as the gruff-voiced vigilante. Whilst a barrage of references to the Gotham’s brooding protector can be expected to line the film, it’s also a safe bet to expect an appearance from some of Batman’s most famous nemeses.

As such, some new images from the upcoming movie have been shared by USA Today, capturing the Clown Prince himself, The Joker, alongside beloved partner in crime, Harley Quinn. Whilst it’s currently unknown who will be playing the Joker’s tricksy accomplice, the jovial jester will be played by Zach Galifianakis (The Hangover, Birdman).

How exactly the Joker will appear within the narrative remains to be seen, but it’s likely a safe bet to assume that mass chaos will somehow be involved. Batman actor Will Arnett has also stated previously (via Screen Rant) that the relationship between the Dark Knight and the Joker will be “a refreshing change-of-pace from what’s been depicted in media before.”

Other images show off Batman’s goggle-eyed sidekick Robin. Michael Cera (Youth in Revolt, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World) will be lending his pipes to the role.

The LEGO Batman Movie hits theatres on February 10 2017. Alongside Arnett as Batman, Cera as Robin and Galifianakis as the Joker, the film is set to star Ralph Fiennes as Alfred Pennyworth and Rosario Dawson as Batgirl. Mariah Carey is also signed on as Mayor of Gotham.
