No Man’s Sky ‘SURVIVE’ Trailer Revealed

Sony have released the final entry in a collection of promotional trailers surrounding the various gameplay elements native to extensive space game, No Man’s Sky. The trailer is titled ‘SURVIVE’, and this time explores just how unforgiving the game’s various terrains can be.

The video extends a variety of different dangers, capturing extreme temperatures, poisoned fog and deadly wildlife. One snippet even overlooks a green-tinged radiation storm, a la Fallout 4.

According to the trailer, the player’s ‘exosuit’ can be equipped with different protection units, insulating them from the game’s harsh climates and toxic surroundings.

However, more obvious is the suit’s tendency to degrade over time. The video shows the player’s ‘radiation damage’, ‘thermal protection’ and ‘toxic protection’ in percentages, suggesting that players will have to keep a careful eye on their status if they want to stay alive.

The suit can also be charged with the various resources located within the surroundings. For example, oxide materials such as iron can be used to build and recharge defensive properties.

SURVIVE is number four in a quadrilogy of No Man’s Sky trailers, released ahead of the game’s initial launch on August 9. The first in the series was ‘EXPLORE’, which focused on No Man’s Sky’s roaming elements, whilst the subsequent ‘FIGHT’ and ‘TRADE’ videos offered a further (respective) look at the game’s combat and  bartering systems.

No Man’s Sky releases for the PlayStation 4 on August 9 in North America, and August 10 in Europe, with the PC version arriving later on August 12 Worldwide.
