Rick and Morty Are Heading to VR

In partnership with Adult Swim Games, developer Owlchemy Labs have recently announced that popular adult toon Rick and Morty will be coming to VR, in a ludicrous simulator-type game for the HTC Vive.

Rick and Morty Simulator: Virtual Rick-ality is based on Job Simulator – a chaotic sim game also on the Vive. According to Owlchemy Labs, the game will blend the virtual-reality madness of Job Simulator with the “ridiculous, all-out, take-no-prisoners comedy of Rick and Morty.” A fifteen-second trailer was also released, giving fans an idea of what Virtual Rick-ality has in store. Suggestively-shaped props, it seems.

According to Owlchemy, the project has remained a secret for months, and looks to flaunt a collection of absurd isms from the Adult Swim series. The studio didn’t go into much detail on what’ll be included, though it was mentioned that the player will be able to leap into portals in Virtual Reality.

“This is truly a dream project for us. We’ve been huge fans of the franchise since the beginning.” said the developer on their official site, “Working with Justin Roiland is hilarious, and he gets us. In fact, we first met serendipitously over our mutual love of Job Simulator, got drunk, ate Indian food, and then decided to make a video game together. And now we’re bringing the world of Rick and Morty to virtual life!

Although a release date for the game has yet to be revealed, the game will be available to demo at the San Diego Comic Con next week. The game will be located at Adult Swim On the Green. For more information on Adult Swim’s appearance at SDCC, you can check out their website here.
