Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is due to hit cinemas on December 16 2016 in the UK and US. Force fanatics in France, Netherlands and Italy, however, will be able to see it slightly earlier on December 14. Whilst Episode 8 still feels a long way off, Rogue One is bound to give fans something to hold on to until December 2017 rolls around.

A Han Solo anthology film is also in the works, which will follow the origin story of the gunslinging smuggler and his Wookie counterpart, Chewbacca. LEGO Movie duo Chris Miller and Phil Lord are on board to direct, with actor Alden Ehrenreich set to play the lead.
