LEGO DC Justice League: Gotham City Breakout Out Today

Whilst The LEGO Movie has been pushed back to 2019, and The LEGO Batman Movie isn’t out until next year, straight-to-home LEGO film LEGO DC Super Heroes: Justice League: Gotham City Breakout is here to help manage the hype.

The movie releases today, and is available on DVD or Blu-ray. While both versions are bolstered with digital downloads, picking up the Blu-ray will also get you an exclusive minifigure of blue-crested hero Nightwing.

The film’s storyline is still very much DC Super Heroes – but comprises the silly humour and pacy action associated with previous LEGO adventures. You can read the overview below (via. Brick Fanatics).

Batman faces his greatest challenge yet: vacation! The caped crusader reluctantly lets Batgirl and Nightwing take him on a long-overdue vacation from crime fighting while Superman and the Justice League watch over Gotham City.

In addition to Batgirl, Nightwing and the Dark Knight himself, fans can expect to see such villains as Deathstroke and Bane, embellished in terrific brick form – and not without a few brickish witticisms. Troy Baker, known for voicing previous characters within both DC and LEGO worlds, will return once more to lend his pipes as the cowl-sporting vigilante. Other esteemed voice actors like Tom Kenny is also on the roster as supervillain Penguin, whilst the seemingly ubiquitous Nolan North is set to play Superman.

LEGO DC Superheroes: Justice League: Gotham City Breakout is out now on DVD and Blu-ray, for around £7. You can pick it up at your local video store.
