Azure Striker Gunvolt 2, Striker Pack Coming Westward This September

Inti Creates has revealed that Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 is coming to the west, arriving this September as a digital download.

The news was announced during this month’s Anime Expo in L.A, where the developer also announced that the Azure Striker Gunvolt: Striker Pack will also see a western release. Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 will be available on the Nintendo eShop on September 30 for $14.99 (that’s around £11).

The Striker Pack, meanwhile, includes both Azure Striker Gunvolt and Azure Striker Gunvolt 2, and will see a 3DS retail release on September 30 for $29.99 (via. Gematsu), which is about £23. Shovel Knight developer Yacht Club will reportedly publish the game. You can watch the pack’s trailer below.

A European release wasn’t mentioned by the studio, but according to Gematsu, the Striker Pack has been rated in Australia – suggesting that the collection is likely to release in multiple regions.

Azure Striker Gunvolt series is also apparently getting its own original video animation, courtesy of Robot Girls Z and Ozuma creators LandQ Studio. Also announced during the Anime Expo, the OVA is due to release this winter. Nintendo Everything shared some photos from the presentation, which you can see here. Though the images are a little blurred, you can still make out the announcement and production credits. Alternatively, you can watch the anime’s official trailer below.

The original Azure Striker Gunvolt launched for the 3DS in Japan in 2014, with a Microsoft version having released last August. The side-scrolling action platformer sees players as the titular Gunvolt, who is able to utilise electrical fields against enemies.

The sequel is due out in Japan on August 25 2016, releasing a month later in North America and Europe on September 30 2016.
