E3 2016 – Nintendo Reveal New Management-RPG Ever Oasis

Whilst The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild might took a hefty lead role in Nintendo’s E3 2016 showcase, it appears the company have a few new titles in the works, that were revealed during a Nintendo Treehouse Live episode during the annual entertainment expo.

Ever Oasis is a upcoming RPG from developer Grezzo. Produced and directed by chocobo and moogle creator Koichi Ishii (Final Fantasy I, II and III; the Mana series), the game casts players as  young ‘Seedling’ adventurer Tethu, who sets out to grow a successful village with his ethereal partner, Isuna.

Invoking a Egyptian-inspired art style that reminds partway between Monster Hunter and Animal Crossing, players must collect dewadems (the game’s main currency) to build ‘Bloom Booths’, crafting weapons and equipment from items you find in the wilderness. A demo was shown during Nintendo Treehouse Live.

Whilst the game doesn’t hide its management qualities, players will also explore deserts, excavate caves and delve deep into dungeons to forage for materials, battle chaotic beasties and solve puzzles. Players recruit villagers by completing missions, each with their own weapons, shops and abilities to aid your island adventures.

According to Nintendo’s official website, Ever Oasis is due to release in 2017 for the 3DS. A specific release date has yet to be confirmed.
