A new logo for the sixth volume of American Horror Story has been released. It’s somewhat minimalist for now, but the blood-red question mark stands out strikingly, teasing fans with the first glimpse of the sixth season in the grisly FX horror series.
The logo shows a blood-red number six against a pitch dark screen, with a question mark noticeably making up the lower part of the logo. As reported by Deadline, series creator Ryan Murphy said in March that “the interesting thing about the next season is that we’ve been working on two ideas at once, which we’ve never done.”
During TCA, Murphy also said that the previous American Horror Story faces could be returning for the sixth season. This includes Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson and Finn Wittrock, as well as Denis O’Hare, Angela Bassett, Wes Bentley, Matt Bomer and Cheyenne Jackson. As outlined in one Deadline comment however, this doesn’t necessarily mean they would all return, as Murphy stated that “any of these (American Horror Story) darlings” could be coming back.
A separate Deadline article has reported that Lady Gaga will be making a reappearance in Season Six.
Each of American Horror Story’s seasons have traditionally been set apart from each other, featuring isolated time periods, characters and storylines. The show’s latest installment, Hotel, began to Back in January, FX CEO John Landgraf teased the news that the Sixth Season is “set in two time periods – in the present with echoes of the past – but principally the present.”
No official details surrounding the season’s title or theme have yet been revealed. American Horror Story’s grim settings have demonstrated remarkable ingenuity so far, overseeing 20th Century asylums to creepy hotels, tackling a wealth of subjects, including experimentation, magic and psychology.
