New Frozen LEGO Shorts and Disney Book Series Announced

It seems that the Frozen cast are making a comeback, and will appear in a series of LEGO animated shorts, alongside new Disney storybooks, Frozen Northern Lights. According to Alan Sugarman, vice president of Disney Publishing Worldwide (via. USA Today), the books will offer “brand new original story and it’s going to feature all of the Frozen fan favourites.”

Alongside the upcoming book series, the familiar Frozen universe will be envisioned in LEGO form, with four new animated shorts coming this November from the Lego Group. Airing on the Disney Channel, the shorts will include original voice actors from the film, such as Kristen Bell, Jonathan Groff, Idina Menzel and Josh Gad. According to Sugarman, the LEGO touch will present fans with a “unique take on the storyline through their eyes.”

“It really comes down to quality of storytelling,” he added. “If we can create great stories that stand on their own and take these characters deeper into the world, then everything will evolve from there. With Northern Lights, we feel like we did exactly that.”

The first of the Disney book series launches on July 5 2016, and will be titled Journey to the Lights. The story will be 224 pages long, and is written by Suzanne Francis. You can see the cover below.
