PlayStation Plus Open Weekend Launches This Friday

If you’re fresh out of fuel in your multiplayer DOOM efforts, yearning to leap back into Overwatch or looking to supplement Uncharted’s story mode with a bit of multiplayer gunnery, you’ll be pleased to know that Sony are launching a PlayStation Plus open weekend, allowing all owners of a PS3 or PS4 to play online, free of charge.

As shared on the PlayStation Blog, the open weekend begins this Friday, on June 24 at 10:00 BST. Players will be able to delve into the online multiplayer modes of any game they own, without needing a subscription to Sony’s PlayStation Plus. The free weekend concludes June 27 at 10:00 BST.

Sony launched its PlayStation Plus scheme back in 2010. For a subscription fee, the service offers players access to a variety of additional features, such as store discounts, early access to new games and 10GB of cloud storage space. Plus members also receive two games each month, which remain available to download and play as long as you’re a member. For more information, you can visit the official PlayStation Plus page here.
