The idea of seven days in the perfect city might sound like an opening to the ideal holiday, but when you’re a thief contracted by a criminal Kingpin to steal bags of cash whilst simultaneously placing your buddies in mortal danger…well, that sort of speaks for itself. And unfortunately, that’s exactly the situation pickpocketer Amy finds herself in. Appointed by formidable mob-boss Magnus, it’s up to Amy and her two novice comrades to navigate the tremulous realms of Monaco in a bid to steal $50 million.
Berlin-based company Bearhands Games’ upcoming game Grand Values: Monaco (via. NeoGAF) follows three young thieves plunged into a world of affluence and moral corruption, and sees players scaling grand architecture, sneaking past brawny guards and pinching pricey loot in a “kick-ass story driven 3D stealth adventure game.”
Driven by a stealth style, Grand Values won’t see the player in epic skirmishes or employing brutal takedowns. As the titchy protagonist Amy, you’re no match for your felonious opponents physically, so it’s up to you to out-brain the security guards to reach your purloinable prize.
Amidst its stealth elements, however, it’s not as simple as reaching the goods in Grand Values. As mentioned on the game’s official website, Bearhands employ a fresh touch that enables players to take control of Amy’s hands to “execute the devilish deed yourself.” According to the developer, it “Takes a little bit to master, but brings something fresh to the genre.”
Embellished in Unity 5 with a bold, toonish art style, Grand Values features “motion capture” and “smart cameras”, as well as a bright cast of supporting characters developed in a “driving story”, “sharp cut-scenes” and reams of dialogue as you and your unlikely crew pitch in to pilfer fifty-mil for the menacing miscreant Magnus.
Grand Values is scheduled for release in Summer 2016 on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. You can check out the official website here. Alternatively, you can head over to the game’s development blog to keep up with the game’s progress.
