Wrestling’s Newest Odd Couple

The following post contains a spoiler for a segment that takes place on this week’s episode of Smackdown. If you would prefer not to be spoiled, do not read on.

Remember that guy who didn’t get suspended in the Prime Time Players? Well, he’s getting repackaged.

That’s right, Darren Young is all set for a new gimmick, and following in the footsteps of the ‘great’ repackaging of former World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger several years ago, Darren is getting his own WWE legend alongside him

Bob Backlund returns to TV this week on Smackdown to work as Darren’s “Life Coach”, with his aim being to make Mr Young realise that “wrestling is life”

In another case of us clearly seeing which way Vince McMahon swings politically, Bob will be coining the phrase “Make Darren Great Again”.

Quite when Mr Young was great before, remains to be seen…
