Star Wars Battlefront Campaign Cut Due To Movie Release

The single player campaign for Star Wars Battlefront was cut so the game could be released alongside The Force Awakens.

EA boss, Patrick Soderlund, addressed the lack of a campaign in Battlefront as part of EA’s Investor Day briefing. During the briefing, he said:

“The one thing that we got criticized for was the lack of a single-player campaign”, he said. “It was a conscious decision we made due to time and being able to launch the game side-by-side with the movie that came out to get the strongest possible impact.

Soderlund went on to say that the company has learned from the experience. Hopefully, this means that Battlefronts sequel, which will be released next year, will include a campaign to play through.

Knowing this I have a question to ask anyone reading this. What do you think the campaign would have been for Star Wars Battlefront? Was the campaign going to let players play through battles of the original trilogy, or was the campaign going to let players play through brand new scenarios? Let us know in the comments below.
