NECA Reveals TMNT Action Figures Based on the Arcade Game

If TMNT: Mutants in Manhattan didn’t quite quench your nostalgic thirsts, toy manufacturer NECA has recently announced two new box sets will appear at July’s San Diego Comic Con, based on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade game.

The two box sets (via. Comic Book Resources) include characters from the 1989 arcade game, with the first featuring the four mutant vigilantes themselves, and the second their steel-shrouded adversary Shredder, who’s joined by his loyal Foot Clan cronies. You can see some images of the gang below.TMNT TMNT TMNT

The figures appear to be fully posable, and even sport neat pixellated detailing, in reference to the side-scrolling beat ’em up.

Whilst this might have Turtles enthusiasts positively foaming with anticipation, NECA states on its website that the figures are very much limited-edition, possessing only 3,000 units. What’s more, the box sets will be convention-exclusive; NECA tweeted that the company has placed “license restrictions” preventing retail sale.

The figures will only be sold in sets, both of which are priced at $100. If you’re attending San Diego’s Comic Con this July, the sets are currently available for preorder via NECA’s official site.

San Diego Comic Con will take place in July this year, running from July 20 till July 24. For more information, you can check out the convention’s official site.
