MECH WARS – The End Of Days Has Come

Crowdfunding has been one of the biggest success stories in recent years, not least for indie games development. Over the last few years, many developers have turned to the gamers themselves for financial support and succeeded in bringing their ideas to life.

One such project has recently kicked off from Han Studios, MECH WARS, and with everything the game is promising, this is definitely worthy of your attention.

Set in a post-apocalyptic dystopia, mankind has been fighting for generations over the last remaining resources on the planet. As the war has progressed, so has the technology used and now a new powerful weapon is about to be unleashed, the MECHs. Considered the ultimate weapons, the highly advanced technology was designed with one thing in mind, ending the war.

With every faction of humanity in fierce global competition to build their own MECHs and with limited resources, you must design and build your MECH before taking on the enemy in battle.

MECH WARS, played from a top-down perspective, will provide gamers with both a lengthy single-player campaign as well as a competitive Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) mode. Both areas of the game will be interlinked so that your progression through the solo story will have an impact on what you have available online.

The game isn’t just going to be ‘jump in your MECH and straight into battle’, there appears to be a quite advanced system for constructing your machine. Players will have the ability to choose the MECH configuration they want, with each element having individual pros and cons for given situations in battle. Numerous combinations of armour and weapons will allow the player to choose what best suits their gaming style.

There will also be exclusive items, weapons and MECH-Parts unlocked in-game as rewards for completing missions and the game is promising a variety of different mission types from crusades to rescue missions. Similar functionality is expected to exist within the multiplayer section of the game, so there will plenty of opportunities to advance you creation.

A number of other in-game elements are planned should the game receive the financial backing it needs, including co-op mode and the ability to trade items with other players.

MECH WARS is currently seeking support via an Indiegogo project with a target of $5000 and I highly recommend that you visit the page for a more detailed look at what is planned.

A demo has just been launched as well, so that those interested in supporting the project can get a preview of what’s to come, the feedback from which has been hugely positive thus far.

Han Studios was founded in 2015 and claim that their main focus being is on quality, fairness and feedback. They aim to create a game that the players want and not what publishers demand. As part of the process of bringing MECH WARS to life the team also have a Steam Greenlight page running and it is clear from this that they are doing what they can to live up to that aim, which is encouraging and exciting at the same time.

The Indiegogo campaign began today so there is plenty of time to learn more before giving your support.
