Dishonoured Novels and Comics Coming This Year

With Dishonoured 2 releasing later this year, developer Bethesda Softworks has announced that they will be producing a series of novels, comic and graphic novels based on Arkane Studio‘s acclaimed action-adventure game Dishonoured, in a recent partnership with publisher Titan Books.

You can see the announcement here [Download Link].

Dishonoured: The Comic Tie-In

The first comic in the series will launch on August 3 2016, with three further instalments releasing from September 7 to October 19 2016. The comics will then be compiled into a graphic novel, which will be available on November 29 this year.

Here’s Titan’s official description of the Dishonoured comic series:

“The city of Dunwall; whaling capital of Gristol and industrial hub of the Empire of the Isles.

Twelve years have passed since Corvo Attano scuppered the Lord Regent’s duplicitous plot against the crown and cleared his name of the Empress Jessamine’s murder.

Now a little older and perhaps a little wiser, Corvo sets his sights on the future and securing an apprentice to continue his legacy.  But when confronted by an impossible face from his past, the supernaturally-gifted assassin finds himself drawn once again into an otherworldly conspiracy, one that threatens to shake the very foundations of his ancient city.”

The series will be written by Gordon Rennie, who penned the White Trash series, and is known for his contributions to 2000 AD magazine on characters like Judge Dredd and Rogue Trooper. Meanwhile, artists Andrea Olimpieri (Batman Beyond) and Marcelo Maiolo (Old Man Logan) were confirmed to be behind the comics’ artwork.

Dishonoured – The Corroded Man

Titan Books confirmed that they will be publishing a three-part book series this year, that will “bridge the story of events” between the original Dishonoured and its upcoming sequel. The books are to be written by Adam Christopher, who wrote The Burning Dark, as well as the original tie-in fiction for detective series Elementary. He also co-authored Dark Circle Comics’ The Shield.

The first novel will be available in both paperback and eBook form, and is priced at £7.99. The novel will release in September 2016 as Dishonoured – The Corroded Man. Two sequels will release in 2017, and will “continue the adventures of the game’s protagonists – Corvo Attano and Emily Kaldwin.”

Dishonoured 2 is set for release on November 11 2016 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Players will have the option to play as the masked Corvo Attano or Empress Emily Kaldwin, as well as the ability to sneak stealthily past their foes or take them down with the brutal finesse of the assassin. Charlie is a platforming romantic from England, that still speaks in a fashion that died with the Elizabethan era. Having been gaming since the days of Crash Bandicoot, he champions the Playstation, and is only a little bit embarassed that Super Mario Land keeps spelling his defeat.
