Daniel Craig has reportedly told MGM that he is finished with the James Bond series.
The Daily Mail are quoting an ‘LA source’ who has claimed that the actor turned down a big-money offer to return as 007.
“Daniel is done – pure and simple – he told top brass at MGM after Spectre. They threw huge amounts of money at him, but it just wasn’t what he wanted. He had told people after shooting that this would be his final outing, but the film company still felt he could come around after Spectre if he was offered a money deal.”
Craig has played the character since 2005, and previously claimed that he would rather “slash his wrists” than do another Bond movie, though he did later admit that he was contracted for one more.
Earlier this week betting was suspended on Tom Hiddleston taking over the iconic role following a flurry of large bets.
