Agent Carter Cancelled

ABC have made the decision to cancel Marvel’s Agent Carter, and will also not take up their pilot option on Marvel’s Most Wanted.

The cancellation of the Hayley Atwell-led series comes as no major surprise, given the lack of comment on its future during the initial wave of series renewals, as well as Atwell’s decision to sign on for other ABC series’. The show focused on Carter’s life, with the emergence of S.H.I.E.L.D. following the events of Captain America: The First Avenger.

It received regular praise from fans and critics, though that never truly reflected in its ratings, especially compared to ABC’s other Marvel show, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Marvel’s Most Wanted was a spinoff idea, designed to star Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood reprising their roles as S.H.I.E.L.D. agents Bobbi Morse and Lance Hunter, however ABC will not be moving forward with the pilot and all plans for a series have been shelved.
